The Engineering Years

Most recently, leadership in Global Finance at The Hershey Company included critical roles in Commercial Finance and US Financial Planning & Analysis for the ~$10B US business. Additionally, transformative initiatives, such as the Gross Margin Improvement Program and the Finance Transformation Office, drove substantial advancements across People, Process, and Technology pillars. This period marked a commitment to designing and implementing impactful financial strategies and operational improvements across the Finance organization.

Leadership roles spanning 9 years in The Hershey Company’s procurement department involved overseeing multi-billion dollar spending categories and negotiating high-stakes supplier contracts. Key areas of spend included Advertising, Media, Capital Equipment, Freight/Logistics, Packaging Materials, and essential Commodities like Sweeteners, Dairy, Nuts, and Energy. Through strategic negotiations and effective risk management, annual savings consistently reached tens of millions of dollars.

With a foundation in Industrial Engineering, Beth's first 15 years of experience involved supporting manufacturing operations and serving as a bridge between technical and commercial teams. This role required fluency in the diverse languages of the company, including Marketing, Finance, and Engineering. By translating priorities and aligning perspectives, complex business cases were developed, multi-million dollar capital projects were written and approved.

"I can't recommend Beth highly enough. She's incredibly strategic, confidential, and thorough in helping assess each situation before recommending action.  Thanks to her expert guidance on salary negotiations, my salary has increased by 28% at my current company."
